Celebrating 50 Years:
Hasselblad & the Apollo Moon Landings

Hasselblad & the Apollo Moon Landings

18th July 2019 – 18:00 BST / 13:00 EDT

This July marks 50 years since Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made history as the first men to walk on the moon. Broadcast to millions worldwide, this iconic moment was also documented using specifically designed Hasselblad cameras.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Hasselblad technical expert Chris Cooze will join Karl in the studio for a special show to talk about Hasselblad’s involvement in the various space programmes.

He will be discussing the history of Hasselblad’s involvement with NASA and some of the facts of the various missions. This insightful show will explore the science of photography in space and how these extraordinary missions impacted photographic technology. If you can’t wait until the show, this is covered in more detail in our blog post here.

Together they’ll be looking at some of the images captured by NASA astronauts and Chris will also be bringing one of the Hasselblad Moon Cameras to present on the show.

This will be a fascinating show and, as always, you’ll be able to join us live to ask your questions.

We also have an article about moon photography, where I share four simple tips for you to try.
