Photography Challenge - Week 38
8th December - 15th December 2020
Photography challenges are a great way to get out of your comfort zone and try new things. Our weekly challenges are designed to encourage you to get creative, practice your skills and develop new techniques. Achievable whether you’re shooting at home or in a studio, these challenges are also a great way to connect with fellow members by sharing advice and support. If you’ve missed any of the previous challenges, you can view them all here.
This week's challenge is...
How to get creative
From colourful clothes to bright backgrounds or gelled lights, there are many different ways you can incorporate colour in portraiture, and this week we’re challenging you to see how you introduce colour in your images.
Colour is, in fact, a very powerful compositional element that many people don’t fully utilise. So this week, why not push yourself and see how you can use colour thoughtfully, and perhaps a little differently to how you usually would. After all, it’s not a ‘challenge’ for nothing 😉
Will you choose juxtaposing colours, or matching hues? Strong, bold tones, or lighter pastel shades? Will you use lighting to add that pop of colour, or will you stick to simpler lighting with a brighter outfit and background?
We can’t wait to see what you come up with, but if you need some ideas or inspiration, you’ll find plenty of classes throughout our site.
About the challenge
We’d love for all our members to get involved in our weekly challenges, but to ensure everyone gets maximum benefit from these, there are a few guidelines...
- Members can submit any one image (taken at any time) for the challenge but in the spirit of the challenge we encourage you to post images taken during the week. A second image can be uploaded to show this (i.e with your phone in shot with the date showing).
- All images submitted to our Facebook group will be displayed in a members gallery on Karl Taylor Education.
- Images should be 2000px on the longest side.
