‘Fast’ Competition Winners
Here are the winners of our ‘Fast’ photography competition.
This months competition was an interesting one, with the theme of ‘Fast’. We had a wide variety of entries from fast paced sports shots to in-studio freeze photography.
Our members had the chance to win the first prize of a Siros Lighting kit as well as second prize – a LEE Filters Little Stopper – and third prize – a LEE Filters Filter Foundation Kit.
You can see Karl giving a quick critique of some of our entries in the video below… but if you’re just here to see who won then scroll down further to see the winning entries!
We hold these competitions throughout the year but you’ve got until October to enter our next competition – enough time to master your photography!
The winner of the Broncolor Siros Lighting Kit is…
1st Place – Manuel Antuna
This winning photo by Manuel was taken this winter in Tromso in Norway and depicts a young athlete in training on the slopes. This shot required Manuel to lay down in the snow at the end of the ski jump waiting for the skier to make the jump. The skiers speed can reach up to 100km/h! A very clever capture that epitomizes the theme.
2nd Place – Kristian Salo
The Second Prize of a LEE Filters Little Stopper was won by Kristian Salo for his image of a Swiss F-5 fighter flying between mountains during a practice flight. A beautiful capture that was bang on theme – it looks truly fast!
3rd Place – Jonathan Irvine
Centrifugal force in action! These photos were taken only a milisecond after the drill was turned on and captured using a very fast flash duration, this allowed Jonathan to create this wonderful image of paint in motion. The feeling of speed and motion in this image really fitted with the theme of ‘fast’.
