Camera Monopods

In this short video Karl demonstrates the usefulness of camera monopods and tripods. What do you think about monopods – do you use them and how do you think they compare to the traditional tripod?

Comments

  1. Are there any super lightweight monopods you might recommend for concert photography? It’s typically difficult light to be working with at most venues and I imagine using a monopod could produce some great images

  2. I started using a monopod while I was shooting baseball. A really helpful piece of equipment which made those long doubleheader days a lot more comfortable.
Now, as an older shooter, I find the monopod is helpful even shooting landscape. Image stabilization is fine, but I prefer leaving it “off” (I’m shooting with an older Oly with the I.S. in the body).
The monopod lets me shoot a little slower when I want a higher F setting.
Thanks, again, for this great program.
